The BIM Revolution powered by SNCF Gares & Connexions, Dalkia and Stereograph
This project marks a turning point for Stereograph who joins, through this collaboration, a unique and historical partnership at arm’s length with two large corporates, SNCF Gares & Connexions and Dalkia.
A unique partnership
For the first time in history, the « digital twins » of 122 stations will be reunited in one and only platform using BIM (Building Information Modelling).
By creating this new revolutionary tool, SNCF Gares & Connexions, Dalkia and Stereograph have decided to build a solid partnership and depart from the traditional client/contractor agreements by signing an unprecedented innovative public-private contract, that will stretch over a period of 12 years.
This represents the third partnership of the kind for the SNCF Group and the first one, for SNCF Gares & Connexions.
For Dalkia, this also represents a new approach and a new innovative joint partnership offer for its clients.
For Stereograph, as a software editor, putting our expertise in BIM for Operations and Maintenance, at the heart of an avant-garde product and participating to its conception, is the opportunity to use our experience in BIM for the benefit of an unprecedented alliance.
The three partners share a similar vision about the contribution and performance
lever that this tool will bring to their respective activities.
A revolutionary BIM tool in Operations
By partnering together, SNCF Gares & Connexions, Dalkia and Stereograph want to create a BIM tool that has never existed before: a platform that is able to gather all the data pertaining to the status and evolution of more than one hundred French stations. This platform will use our solution, Teia as its foundation.
This tool will provide a global overview of the railway estate in real time and in the long-run and, for each station, improved management facilities thanks to the digital twin. That way, all the different professionals will have a quick access to the same data. The tool will also trigger an acceleration of the energetic transition of the stations by allowing the control of consumption.
This new BIM project not only represents an opportunity for SNCF Gares & Connexions, but also for the management and value maximisation of all the assets.
A progressive roll-out
The three partners have defined various steps:
1. 2020: Develop and experiment prototypes on two stations: Nîmes Pont-du-Gard Station and the station of Toulouse Matabiau, listed as historical monuments in France.
2. 2021-2022: after approval of the prototypes, the roll-out of the platform will start on 10 stations of Brittany.
3. 2022-2031: spread BIM as a general standard across the 122 main SNCF stations on the French territory.
“Driven by a constant search for innovation to improve experiences and performance, I decided to put technology at the heart of Stereograph. This desire for technological innovation has brought us to working on the pioneering BIM standard for the industries of Building and Infrastructure during the phases of operations.
Today, the expertise and maturity of Stereograph on this subject allows us to be part of this unprecedented partnership, at arm’s length with the SNCF Group and Dalkia.”
